Latest New Jersey Youth Soccer Covid Guidelines

NJYS Clubs/Coaches:

As the Fall 2021 outdoor season is upon us, New Jersey Youth Soccer would like to remind all members, coaches and players regarding Return To Play as it pertains to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On May 28, 2021, Governor Murphy followed guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the New Jersey Department of Health to remove all restrictions regarding COVID-19 and Return to Play activities. It is important to note that there may be changes in the number of cases and hospitalizations from COVID-19 as we enter the fall and winter months. NJYS continues to encourage everyone involved in youth soccer to be vigilant in practicing the common sense health activities that reduce the risk of transmitting all infectious diseases, including coronavirus.

The CDC and the Governor’s Office encourages everyone to get vaccinated, especially those who are medically compromised.

Other health activities to reduce the risk of disease include:

  • Washing your hands thoroughly and frequently.
  • Covering coughs and sneezes.
  • Staying home if you are feeling ill. Wearing masks when appropriate and
  • Maintaining social distancing among all participants while at our soccer fields.

Although masks are not required outdoors, those who feel comfortable wearing them should feel free to do so.

As you know, the COVID-19 response will continue to evolve and information is expected to change quickly. NJ Youth Soccer will continue to follow the guidance from state and health officials and communicate these changes in a timely manner.

We understand the challenge this may pose for parents and, nonetheless, urge us all to adhere to these parameters that currently provide an opportunity for players to train and compete during this difficult time.

Thank you for your continued support of youth soccer.

NJ Youth Soccer
